I really wanted to see Ireland since Brian really liked it while he was there some years ago again, for work. We spent the weekend there before heading to England. We got to NY around 6 and our plane to Dublin left at 9:30. We got VERY little sleep the whole night and arrived about 8 or so Dublin time. (7 hours ahead of Utah). For some reason I started feeling really sick after we landed and I stood up to get off the plane. Walking around helped a little but then I just got feeling worse, and on the bus to our hotel I lost it. I couldn't do anything about it and it was embarrassing but luckily only 2 people noticed.😮Anyway, after that I felt a lot better. That first day we saw as much as we could of Dublin. I just LOVED Ireland. The City, the country, the people, everything was so charming and just lovely. The buildings are beautiful, and I can only imagine what it is like in the Springtime. It rains a lot so it is so green everywhere even though it was going into winter, just like here. I noticed the rain is different there though. It is more of a gentle drizzle. Really the only way I can describe it is soft.
These pictures are a bit out of order. This was on our second day when we took a private tour to the Glendalough Mountains. A lot of movies were filmed here, including scenes in Braveheart. It was just amazing and beautiful.
We bought delicious fish and chips from a street vendor right by this bridge:
Dublin
On every corner is pub.
Dublin Castle:
They raise a lot of sheep so there are many Wool stores.
Still Glendalough and Brian taking pictures of our French tour buddies.
St. Patricks Cathedral:
The following day we did a little more exploring around the city before we met a former co-worker of Brians, Brian Boye. He and 2 friends came and we hung out a local pub to visit before we walked to Aviva Stadium to see the Ireland vs Canada Rugby match. we have never seen Rugby live and it was really a lot of fun!
