UK 2016- England

On that Sunday we took a 1 hour flight from Dublin to the Manchester Airport. We ate lunch there, then took a taxi to the Park Royale Hotel in Stretton. Across the street was beautiful old church we decided to take a walk around. A sign said they were having Evensong that was starting soon. Since the bells were ringing, we thought they would be singing hymns so we went inside to enjoy them. It turned out to be a 90 minute sermon. We did sing a couple hymns, but it was nothing what I expected and "Evensong" to be. One thing we noticed is the people over there are fascinated with the US and follow the news and current events very closely. EVERY single person we talk to, taxi drivers, the Priest in the church, waiters in the restaurant asked us what we thought about the Election.

England is just as lovely as Ireland. Its very....English. As opposed to Irish. There is quite a difference.
If I put every picture I took on this blog, it would take a week to look through them all.
One day while Brian was at work I decided to take a train to Liverpool. Totally different feel from Manchester even though they really aren't that far away from each other. They are rival cities we learned. Each one thinks they are better than the other. I learned a lot about the Titanic and the Beatles. I bought myself two Beatles t-shirts.

This was the view out our hotel window:

We switched hotels part way through to be close to Manchester. We loved visiting the Manchester Christmas Markets.

One of the best things we did was attend the Manchester United vs Arsenal Soccer game. It was such a blast! Our tickets ended up on the 4th row right behind the goal. we could see the players up close and personal! Afterwards we waited for autographs and got 5 and I even got my picture taken with Juan Mata. He was the only one that scored for Manu. (the game ended in a tie)

It was such a fun trip and we ate the best food and I want to go back. ASAP.
