Spring Break and then some

Last Saturday Kenni was baptized. It was a wonderful day. A lot of family and friends came to support her. The weekend started off on Thursday when mom and dad arrived. We quickly ate dinner then went to Rians soccer game and it was freezing! Brian had a coaches meeting afterwards, so mom and dad took us girls to Dairy Queen for a treat. The next day Mom and Shelby and I went shopping which is always fun. Then we came home and worked hard getting everything ready for Saturday. Later that night Kim and Carl and family arrived so we made dinner and watched Napoleon Dynamite for the umpteenth time. Brian helped me saw some firewood in half and made different sizes because I used them on my table to set all the food up on. It turned out great but I didn't think to take a picture. We got up early to be ready for the baptism at 9. Her two grandmas said prayers, two grandpas were witnesses, and she asked me and Aunt Kim to give talks. It was a very nice morning.

Afterwards we went back to our house and ate parfaits with Candice's homemade yogurt, granola, fruit, muffins, deviled eggs, and some Easter candy.
I set up this display of kenni's pictures but its kind of hard to see how cute it was. Still is, haven't taken it down yet.

Brian's parents took off for California shortly after we ate to welcome Seth back from his mission. Candice and Gary, Mom and Dad, Kim and Carl hung around and we had an Easter egg hunt and rode horses, went on a bikeride, etc. Every kid picked an animal that they just loved. Camille the dogs, Christian and Cayden the sheep, and most of the younger kids adored the chickens. Those hens have never had so much attention it was so funny.

Even Fabio got in on the action

The boys loved the cow! They weren't getting much because the two calves keep her pretty milked out, but they got a few squirts.

Rian and Christian took the horses ditch jumping.

Shelby and Uncle Carl

Mom and Dad went home Saturday, Candice and Gary a little later, and Kim and Carl stayed for Sunday. Carl took Marcus and Christian up to the Real SL soccer game so Kim, Matt, Camille, and all of us went out for Thai food. We were going to get up early Sunday morning and hike up to watch the sunrise, but since we were up late the night before we all stayed in bed. So after church and  delicious Easter dinner, we want on a little hike up above town. Not quite the same effect as an Easter morning sunrise, but still great.
Then Kim and Carl headed home.

Monday Brian went to work, then he took Tuesday off and we finished tiling the tub surround in our basement bathroom. Later in the day we took the kids ice skating. (we bought the pass of all passes and ice skating is included for 2 months only) Graci just LOVES ice skating. It was shelby's first time and she really liked it as well.

After skating we went to the BYU creamery for some dinner and ice cream. Then to Trafalga for some mini golfing. Again, thanks to our passes. We wanted to make it a fun day for the girls since the next morning, Shelby got her tonsils out. As of yesterday, we are a tonsil free family.
We arrived at the surgery center at 7 am. We talked to her about what was going to happen, and she seemed a bit apprehensive and didn't want to leave our laps, but when the nurse came and got her from me, she didn't fight or cry. All she said was "I want my mom". Made me sad to send her off.

Here she is waiting for the nurse to come get her. I didn't take any after pictures because we were busy helping her out of anesthesia and getting her to eat her Popsicle. Out of all the kids, (Brian included) I think she came out of surgery the easiest. It still took some coaxing to fully wake her and get her to drink, but all in all a lot quicker than the others.

Sweet little thing is a trooper when it comes to taking her yucky medicine and she just wants to snuggle. Its very sweet.  We can tell it hurts but she is handling it pretty well. It won't be fun when the scabs start coming off, but I'm just glad its over.
Rian and Kenni went to work with their dad today while Graci and I took care of our little patient. It rained a lot.
That's whats going on for our spring break.
