Halloween

Nothing to spectacular for Halloween this year. Graci had a party and parade at preschool. Here is a picture of her singing some songs. She was a BYU cheerleader.

Me and Shelby. It was cold that morning.

a lot of "don't want to to my hair days"
Ali as Wonder Woman. Never did get a good picture with Andrew as Batman.
Shelby for some reason was not going to let me take her picture. She seemed so sad for a while
until we went trick or treating and she realized what people were putting
in her bucket. She perked right up.

This week

This past week we have been getting all our finish work done in the house. And the hardwood floor. And the base cabinets so they could measure for countertops. At first I wasn't too pleased with the color of cabinet I chose with the exception of one of the bathrooms that is a beautiful red. However, I think it is growing on me and I will like it more once all cabinets and decor are in. They start staining all the wood tomorrow then painting. I can't believe we are getting so close to having it all done.
Nothing too exciting happened last week. I helped Rian and Kenni with their Reflections contest entries. They did photography of course.
Friday I got my hair done then took Graci and Shelby in to the doctor for some checkups that they were overdo for. Shelby is now finally 20 pounds at 22 months.  She is my little shadow and is with me no matter what I am doing.
It has been raining here a lot all weekend and Brian took Rian to the byu game. Luckily, it stopped once they got there and started up again literally as the game ended.
I have been reading the second book of the Hunger Games and so far really like it. If you haven't read the books, I recommend them.
Well, I guess that is about it for this week.

October

For fall break we took the Ewell's to Panguitch. They haven't been to Bryce in a while and we decided it would be a great weekend to do it. Our first day we hiked one of our favorite hikes, Willis Creek. It is beautiful with the water and slot canyons. I think everyone had a great time.

About 2 weeks ago, Kenni met her goal of going for 1 full year with No French Fries or potato chips.
She decided to do that to earn an ipod touch. She had so much willpower throughout the year even when people were eating them in front of her. She knew what she wanted and wasn't about to give in. It was worth every penny to see her accomplish something so big and to see her happy when her dad came home with it.

horse and house

The horses love to frolic and play when they get let out in the pasture. I love to take pictures of them horsin around. Hee hee.

This is the stage our house is at now.  They should be done with texturing tomorrow then onto painting!

This is the girls playroom in the basement. Didn't Brian do a good job on the arch? I sure think so. The kids LOVE it already. They like to play restaurant.

Yesterday we celebrated Grandpa Ewell's bday. I made such yummy cupcakes!
I found the recipe right here. They were really good. Note: If you make them, put the cookie dough in the middle and push down a little and add more batter on top.
I feel really bad for Brian today because he has really been stressed out lately. Stressed for today. He has to layoff people. He has been dreading it. He has made good friends that are being let go. I talked to him this morning and he found out that his friend that he carpools with, who actually drove them today, is being let go.

Shelby

My sweet little Shelby is not a baby anymore. She is talking so much and is doing things so much faster than the other girls did. Maybe it is because she has 3 older teachers that she mimics everything they do. It is just funny because her hair isn't growing very fast so she still looks babyish. Today I was in the kitchen at the sink and she comes in and said "scuse me mommy." Then she opened up the cupboard to the garbage and took her gum she had been chewing all morning and threw it in the garbage. Then she likes to say what Graci does. They will say "mommy" and I say "what" and then they say "nevermind".
She gets very sad when Graci goes to preschool. In fact, last week she cried almost the whole time she was gone and kept saying her name. Anyway, she is my sweety and I love her. She sleeps with Brian and I every night and I love snuggling her because she loves to snuggle. I just enjoy it because she won't want to snuggle her mom forever.
We locked in an interest rate today so our house HAS to be done by Nov. 8th. They finally started sheetrock today. I feel like we have been running around like chickens with no heads lately trying to make sure we had everything ready.

Does anyone else like Google Chrome? I use it all the time. I like it a lot better than Internet Explorer especially when I want to download something.

Projects

One reason I can't wait to get in my house is so I can start on some projects again. My friend built herself this bed and matching nightstands from this site that has a ton of great ideas. It turned out great and it has so many possibilities as far as colors go. I am for sure going to build one for myself or a twin size for my girls or something.
Another thing I want to perfect is my photography. I have a blog that you all can see. It has nothing on it right now, but I will post pictures on it very soon. I don't have time right now to make a cutesy website or fancy schmancy blog, so I am just going to have a basic one that I can just post them on. It is called http://capture-your-moment.blogspot.com/

Home Sweet Home

This is what our house looks like at the moment. We got insulation Friday and they should be starting sheetrock this Wednesday! I am getting soo excited. We have been working working working every day up there. Finishing electrical and doing some odds and ends in the basement so we can sheetrock that too.

Sunflowers

Rian and Kenni fell asleep early one night so Graci and Shelby had some fun together.
I haven't spent much time with my camera lately, and I decided I need to devote time everyday to it.
Here are some I took today that I really like.

This weeks happenings

Here is a picture of Brian's Dads horse King. They just sold him. They decided they have way too many horses to ride and feed. I am trying to decide if I should buy one to ad to our own little herd. Between his parents and ours we have 8 now. It was kind of sad to see him go. I was actually the last one in the family to ride him. That was a week ago. Brian Graci and I were riding one evening and a car stopped. A lady who is a photographer hopped out with her "subject" and asked if they could borrow a horse for their shoot. You can see a couple she took if you click here. They used Missy. Isn't she photogenic? Maybe I will have Brian take my picture with her.

I was down in our bedroom one day folding clothes and I heard noises and looked up and saw my Tiger and her babies staring back longingly. Did I ever mention that she delivered her little brood in our bedroom? Believe me, I didn't invite her. I walk in one day and heard little noises and instantly knew what it was because I knew she would be having them any day. I didn't know she snuck into our room. Luckily, she was mostly nestled in my box of winter clothes that I am using for a nightstand at the moment. Snow clothes wash pretty easy. Anyway, I thought it was a cute picture. I always hated cats. Until I found my Tiger.

We have been working and working and working on our house all week. One of Brians relatives who lives here in town is an electrician and he is being so wonderful to come and do it for us. Brian and I have been helping him a lot. The main floor is practically done and we should finish up with the basement tomorrow. It is funny because a lot of creatures are already moving into our house. The heating guys killed 2 bats one day, and just this afternoon we had a whole lot of fun with a squirrel in the basement. We went up there today and we had Bo come with us. (my little poodle) He was wandering around and when he walked past a box, it made noises. After a few minutes, we figured it was a squirrel. Brian (the big wimp. If you knew how many mice I have had to kill for him you would laugh) sent me over to move the box. He was standing clear over in the other room. I moved the box and the little guy sat still for a second. Then Bo moved towards him and so he took off running right in my direction. I dropped the box and screamed and the girls screamed and Brian was laughing and running around trying to catch him all the while Bo was chasing him all over the basement. Anyway, to make a long story short, he finally escaped and we had a good laugh about it. So, all these critters are enjoying our house before we get to.

Long Time No Write

I really wanted to keep up on this for my journal writing but alas, life gets in the way. So I will try to do a little catch-up. The most n...
