My little guy is almost 2 weeks old already. He is such a sweetheart and I feel like he has been in our family forever. I can't imagine life without him now. His sisters love him to pieces. Especially Shelby who can't stay away from him for longer than 3 minutes.
This next picture you can sort of see his cone head and little marks on his face. The doctor had to use forceps because he was stuck. Being my biggest baby and being face up, we are very grateful he made it here safely!
Graci is a bit sad looking because she was missing her mom and didn't want to leave me. It was very sweet.
We came home from the hospital on Thursday around noon. His doctor wanted us to take him in to test his bilirubin on Saturday. It was pretty low. Then the next Monday I had to take him in for a newborn check and they tested it again. It had gone up so they arranged for a health care place to deliver me a bilibed. He had to be in it at all times except for feedings and diaper changes. Luckily, he didn't mind it too much. The first night anyway. After that he kept getting cold even though I tried to keep blankets on him. His numbers started going down again by Tuesday so luckily we didn't have to take him back to the hospital. Afterwards I mostly used the little light that I could hold him with. He was able to snuggle up to me and I could keep a blanket around him and so he was a lot warmer and more comfortable. By Thursday his numbers were way down so we didn't have to do the lights anymore. I was very relieved.
Last Sunday when he was 4 days old, we had him on a blanket on his tummy. He rolled over to his back. At first we though it was just an accident but no, he has not stopped. You put him on his tummy, and he rolls right back over. He is already growing so much. I told Brian I think he has too many things to do in his life that he does not have time to be my baby for long. I am cherishing every second.
My goal is to keep him healthy. The girls get home from school and I make them change clothes and wash up before they can even look at him. Im a bit paranoid about it because of what happened to our little niece, Lily. She was two weeks old when she got RSV and had to be life flighted to Primary Childrens. She almost didn't make it. Now she is perfectly fine luckily.
I sure love my little family!
